About this book

Description

Hydrodistilled in traditional copper stills which have been utilized for millennia. Rare Ruh Khus is known as “Green Vetiver,”€ acquiring its name from its final greenish color which comes from being distilled in copper. Our is a lovely olive green. It is sometimes known as “Wild Vetiver.”€

Be forewarned, if you do not like Vetiver, do not pass go, do not proceed—we guarantee you will not like Ruh Khus, unless it is a miracle. On the other hand, if you love Vetiver, Ruh Khus is Vetiver for the true connoisseur and must be experienced!

Marge poetically refers to it as “€œthe soul of Vetiver.” Aromatically intense, complex, earthy, hearty, deep, and lush with increased layers of complexity upon dry down.

What makes the wild-growing Ruh Khus so different from its cultivated counterpart? Well, for one, it is found mainly in Northern India and rarely in other areas of the world where cultivated Vetiver is most often grown such as Haiti or Sri Lanka. According to Christopher McMahon, botanists describe it as the “seedy” vetiver because it can spread its population through seeds as opposed to the cultivated variety of vetiver which must be propagated by division. Quite unique!

Like our cultivated Vetiver, emotionally it is very grounding and balancing; physically it is said to help reduce anxiety with a mildly sedating effect. In use since ancient times in India and Southeast Asia, where it is known as, “The Oil of Tranquility.”
