About this book

Description

An amazing new anti-inflammatory, this new-to-us hydrosol is a delightful surprise. First: aromatically, it is very gently spiced, not at all strong or overwhelming. I am looking forward to cooking with it, I think a splash in the rice steamer will be wonderful. It is good for all sorts of digestive upsets, too!

Our distiller swears by it for skincare. I am told that it is at least as powerful an anti-inflammatory for skincare as is German Chamomile, but with a different mechanism of action, working in cases where the Chamomile is not effective.

In India, Turmeric hydrosol has traditionally been used to treat digestive difficulties, kidney ailments, rheumatism, and sinus problems. It is likely that the high 1,8 Cineole content is what makes it so helpful with sinus and other respiratory issues such as colds and sniffles. It is said to be as effective at treating bruises as our beloved Helichrysum hydrosol. Eases minor aches, pains from viruses. Soothes swollen and inflamed skin.

Analgesic, Carminative, Antibacterial, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal (due to the alpha-terpineol and ar-turmerone content), making it helpful for itchy rashes and possibly tinea and ringworm.

Turmeric Hydrosol is a safe and useful addition to your aromatic first aid kit, particularly for treating all varieties of skin problems.
