All the germ-killing power of traditional Oregano without the pizza aroma! Christi says this oil reminds her of her time on a Greek Island (Patmos) and indeed the plant grows abundantly throughout the Mediterranean, Turkey, and is particularly abundant on the Isle of Crete.

Known as Spanish or Greek Oregano, Thymus Capitatus, hails from the Lamiaceae family, and is highest in Monoterpenes, known best for antioxidant and antimicrobial activity. Carvacrol is the key component, alongside gamma-Terpinene, para-Cymene, and beta-Carophyllene.

Hailed as a powerful germ-killer, followed by anti-spasmodic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, anti-parasitic and a diverse range of uses. Greek or Spanish Oregano is widely known in Europe but not as familiar in the United States; after experiencing it we had to share! We consider it a valuable addition to your germ-killing collection.

Inhalation via a nebulizer, diffuser, or inhaler provides for the most effective use. Potent for cleaning, too. (I am thinking of kitchen sinks or countertops adding Spanish Oregano to warm soapy water. I would even mop my kitchen with it.)

Safety: Robert Tisserand cautions the oil inhibits blood clotting (anti-platelet action) and that it also should not be used by those who are pregnant or under two years of age. Can be a mucous membrane irritant and a skin-safe dilution would be under 1.1%.

WARNING: All Oregano Essential Oils are very strong skin and mucous membrane irritants. If you plan to use it on the skin, please use a VERY mild dilution.

SHELF LIFE: Approximately 3 to 4 years after you open the bottle. Storing in the dark, refrigerated, and decanting half full bottles into smaller, full bottles will extend shelf life.
