About this book
Description
You all are familiar with our powerful germkiller Niaouli, Melaleuca quinquenervia, ct Cineole. This relatively new “cousin” is as different as night and day from the other Melaleuca quinquenervia chemotype.
Very low in 1,8-cineole (sometimes called eucalyptol), the Nerolina oil is high in linalol (think Lavender) and in the unique component nerolidol, also found in Neroli, Jasmine, and Lavender. (Can you say “floral?”)
The result is one of the sweetest scented Australian leaf oils.
Nerolidol, isolated, is a bit sticky and said to be a dermal uptake enhancer. This indicates that Nerolina, in a blend of other oils, could enhance penetration of the components of the blend.
Anecdotal mention of Nerolina indicates that it is an adrenal tonic, ideal for extreme fatigue and stress. It is believed to be an anti-inflammatory, expecially for mucous membranes. There is anecdotal evidence that it is a miticide, and it might be useful in a blend to combat head lice. Many Australian sources recommend adding it to a shampoo for “children’s hair problems.”
The aroma is calming, soothing and uplifting, the perfect stress reliever.
It blends well with any of the floral oils, and, especially may be used to balance the more medicinal aromas of most Australian oils.
Safety: Believed to be nontoxic, non-irritating, and non-sensitizing.
