About this book
Description
An amazing surprise from an Australian distiller, this relative of the familiar Tea Tree is an aromatic twin of Rosewood, without the potential for rainforest damage. Hard to believe that a leaf oil can have the same aroma as an oil distilled from heartwood, but if you are presented with an unlabeled sample of this oil I guarantee you will say “rosewood!”
This is a new oil, distilled from leaves and thus a renewable resource. Its chemical profile is interesting: high in linalool, in alpha-pinine (as are the evergreen oils that I love) and in the cineoles that make the Eucalyptus oils such effective decongestants and expectorants.
My Australian friends call this gentle oil “Lavender Tea Tree” and rave about its use for children, both as an antibacterial and for relaxing them when sleep can’t come. It’s also great for upper respiratory infections, as well as anti-bacterial skincare for acne and other skin infections.
SHELF LIFE: Approximately 2 to 3 years after you open the bottle. Storing in the dark, refrigerated, and decanting half full bottles into smaller, full bottles will extend shelf life.
