Description

A single point of amethyst, faceted into six short sides that taper to a rounded tip, strung on a fine brass-plated chain just long enough to swing freely between two fingers. The stone shows the mineral's natural banding, pale lilac shading to a deeper violet near the point, and no two pendulums in a batch are cut from quite the same seam of stone. Pendulum dowsing has old roots in divining for water and metal with a swinging weight on a string, long before it was adapted for yes-and-no questions and quick card confirmation. Amethyst in particular is said, by old folklore, to steady a restless mind, which is part of why it is favored for pendulum work over heavier or more assertive stones, a quiet mineral asked to give quiet answers. This point is cut from Brazilian amethyst, chosen for clarity over deep color so the banding stays visible rather than reading as solid purple under lamplight. The chain is finished with a small ring clasp rather than a fixed loop, so the pendulum can be moved onto a longer chain if a reader prefers a wider, slower swing. Hold the chain loosely between thumb and forefinger, let the stone still itself, then ask a question with a known answer first to establish which swing means yes. Good for quick confirmation work alongside a tarot or oracle spread. Small enough to carry in a coat pocket, and small enough to forget it is there until needed.
